A Tweet Job: Summer ‘Twinternship’ With CAREEREALISM.com

April 30, 2009 by sparktalk

A day doesn’t pass in the media right now without some reference to Twitter. Honestly, if that isn’t an indicator that learning to ‘tweet’ is smart for your career, I don’t know what is. When it comes to business, Twitter is here to stay folks. The professional applications of it are only just beginning to be realized. Over here at Careerealism.com – we tapped into the power of Twitter back in January, and have been obsessed with it ever since. So, if you are a college student or recent grad who is interested in social media tools and has been looking for an internship, then our summer ‘twinternship’ is for you! Here’s why:

Besides learning how to use Twitter for business, we are also going to teach you how to develop your personal brand (a.k.a. your career identity) on Twitter. Better still, we are going to show you how to network – a  professional skill that most students aren’t taught in school. In fact, by the time you are done, you’ll be connecting with people you never even dreamed of getting to talk to – all through Twitter. Oh yes, and did I mention? All of our twinterns will be career coached through our CAREEREALISM University program as well.

So, if you A) want to gain some professional credibility and get expert help with your career planning, and B) you’d like to develop some skills that I promise will be in demand in the future, then you should definitely apply. Check out the application information on the lower right side of the Careerealism.com homepage and submit yours in time. Before you know it, you could be a twintern for CAREEREALISM.com!

Being an intern for JT was one of the best career decisions I have ever made. I learned so much about myself and how to show my unique skills during interviews. This enabled me to separate myself from the competition and I landed a great internship for the summer.

As far as Twitter is concerned, you would be silly not to take advantage of the "Twinternship" this summer. Not only are you setting up a great social media tool for yourself, but also you get one-on-one coaching from JT as she guides you through her CAREEREALISM University program. You will not be disappointed with her program and that is a promise!!

So do yourself a favor and sign up for it. If you have any questions please come find me on Twitter @AndrewHennessy
  • There's a few guys who sent me emails after you appeared on my show who might want the job.

Kids, JT was the guest on my show last week and, if you listen, you'll see that I disagree with her about a number of things -- but I'm sure that I'd learn a lot if I could hang around with her for the next few months.

JT, how about a job description and some comments from interns past?

Yes, you and I don't see eye--to-eye on several things, but being on your show was a great experience.

The job description is in the application docs on the lower right-side of our site.

As for interns? Great point! I am going to get them to jump on this post and share their thoughts so others can hear first-hand their experiences!

I learned more from this internship about careers, who I am, and what I want and need to get out of my job, than I could have ever learned from college. I’m not just saying this because I’m JT’s intern but she’s right, “College teaches you everything, except how to get the job!” And for any of you who do the Twinternship this summer you will find out exactly what I am talking about. You should definitely not miss out on this great opportunity.
