Job Search Paralysis

Job Search ParalysisEver wonder if perhaps your extended job search is causing you to become ineffective at finding work?

It’s called, “Job Search Paralysis” and it’s very real.

Given today’s extended unemployment numbers (9.1% unemployment, 25M out of work, 45% out of work 6+ months, etc.), it’s easy to see why the number of people with Job Search Paralysis is increasing. Which leads to an important question:

How do I know if I have it?

In the following video, J.T. O’Donnell explains the tell-tale signs of Job Search Paralysis which include:

  • Spending less than 15 hours/week on your job search.
  • Limiting your job search to activities that don’t involve connecting with people face-to-face.
  • Having a “crisis of confidence” about your ability to find a job.

O’Donnell also explains how to overcome Job Search Paralysis so you can get back in the game and find the job you want and deserve. Highlights of this video include O’Donnell working with guests on the show to challenge their fears and push them to get back the mindset that will help them move forward.

I meant to tune in during its original broadcast, but watching it today came at the perfect time because I am definitely suffering from job search paralysis. The webinar was a dose of truth and tough love. After watching the webinar, I feel encouraged, hopeful and re-energized to jump back into my job search with vigor and irrational optimism. Thank you!!

Sorry I read a lot of newsletters but I also visit the employment agencies.

I’m seeking help by regularly visiting employment agency. I’m also applying for one job after another, but what keeps me unemployed is my age – I’m 55 years old. On top of that, I also suffer a sciatica. I’ve wasted more than 3 years doing nothing but reading a lot of newsletters.
