What Are You Selling To Potential Employers?

The biggest frustration for a hiring manager when asking interview questions is the “general" or “safe" answer. It is easy to tell when someone is giving me one because they stop and you can see them thinking, "Hmm, what are they looking for here?" Then, they usually sit back in their chair (which is bad, too) and then look anywhere BUT at the hiring manager and start using buzz terms and generalities. Hiring Manager: “Why should I hire you?" You (while gazing from side to side, sitting back in your chair with crossed arms): “Well, ah, I'm hard working, reliable and a team player." Great, everything every other candidate has said when asked the same question! You may think you are improving your chances of getting hired by giving answers like this, but I can guarantee you are getting yourself eliminated! The following video explains in further detail.
