Dear Experts,
What are some tips you give on what to wear to an interview. I just went in for an interview for a intern position with a guerrilla marketing company in a suit and tie and the interviewer told me it was the first time they had ever had someone where a suit to interview for their company. I felt embarrassed, as if I was over dressed. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Q#371 I vote for overdressing – suit is mark of respect. u could joke “guess I’m a higher class of intern!”(@juliaerickson)
Q#371 Ditto comments from @DawnBugni: research, stake out, step it up a notch (or 2). Right on. (@CareerBranches)
Q#371 I always wear a suit/shirt and tie to an interview. Far better to be overdressed than underdressed. (@gradversity)
Q#371 Research. If U can, watch emp going to/from wk for a day or 2. Dress 1-2 levels higher. Better over than under dressed. (@DawnBugni)
Q#371 U don’t have the job yet and need 2 impress. A suit is appropriate interview attire. (@DebraWheatman)
Q#371 Overdressed a bit is OK 4 interview. Scope out office/dress one-two steps UP. http://bit.ly/2VySgG. (keppie_careers)

I am a little perplexed as to why 'where' wasn't grammatically corrected to 'wear' twice in the 'Dear Expert' question…

I sincerely hope that the person who asked that question has someone to proofread his/her resume. The question asked should be “what to WEAR to an interview.”
Just FYI. Grammar and spelling is just as important (if not more) than what you WEAR to an interview.
