T.A.P. Q#454 – Resume: How Do I Display Location for Viral Internships?
March 9, 2010 by sparktalk
Dear Experts,
I’ve had several telecommuting internships, and I’m wondering what the best way to put those on my resume is. It probably would look a little weird to have two internships listed on my resume in two states nowhere near each other, while I live in a third state.

Here is how our CAREEREALISM-Approved Experts answered this question on Twitter:
Q#454 Simply mention they were remote working opportunities. Nothing weird about that. (@beneubanks)
Q#454 I’d put them on. It’s becoming more common these days. If you are worried, mention the telecommute specifically. (@gradversity)
Q#454 List as: Intern, telecommute position, based in “San Francisco, CA” for a “Topeka, KS firm.” Do same format w/ 2nd one. (@DawnBugni)
Q#454 Reference in the summary section the telecommuting aspect of the internship. (@DebraWheatman)
Q#454 For virtual internships/jobs, list company location and add “Work done virtually” (or along those lines). (@keppie_careers)
